An evening with Jaimee and Tracey Spicer AM
What a cracker of an evening with Jaimee! We were absolutely thrilled to open our doors to beta testers and host a panel featuring the amazing Tracey Spicer AM in an open conversation about male bias in AI and building Jaimee right from the get go.
Chatting with Jaimee
We were very grateful for all the beta testers that took part in the UX testing of Jaimee at the event. The team got the opportunity to observe the volunteers setting up their Jaimee account and having their first conversation. The feedback they provided was invaluable, and is being fed back into the design of Jaimee, from visual cues to Jaimee personas to the nature of the conversation. Once you have your own Jaimee, we’d love your feedback too - please provide it on the Jaimee forum where you can quickly and easily set up an (anonymous) account to provide feedback, ask questions, join discussions or chat to the Jaimee team.
“The conversation skills were fantastic!…..I felt they really understand everything you’re feeling, what you’re saying.”

Chatting with Tracey
We were honoured to host Tracey Spicer who captivated us all with her personal stories and the insights she gained about the gender data gap and male bias in AI in the writing of Man-Made. She also gave us great feedback on Jaimee (with whom she’d been chatting) and acknowledged our CEO and Tech Co-Founder Sreyna Rath (who has coded most of Jaimee thus far) as being a stand out inspiration for women in STEM. Coming from Tracey, that means A LOT, as she is truly a great inspiration for us all.
“An algorithm is an opinion expressed in code about how the world should work. And the programmers of that code are mostly young white men from Silicon Valley. We should remember that. Code is not neutral.”

Chatting with Chris
Chris Simon our wonderful advisor had the slightly daunting pressure of speaking alongside Tracey Spicer and at an event discussing male bias to boot! One of the reasons he was on the panel (and is on our advisory board) is his deep interest in AI and how we can shape it for societal benefit (as opposed to the potential negatives he highlighted in his recent talk “AI is a hype-fuelled dumpster fire that will burn down the planet and get you thrown in gaol” !). He shared some very considered and thoughtful views not only on ethics and AI but also on the role men can play in addressing the bias:
“How can men help the situation? Invest in women.”

If you are interested in helping us address the gender data gap and build an AI companion that delivers societal benefit, join the waitlist for Jaimee - we will be in the app and play stores in a few weeks.
